In March 1994, Glenn English became the fourth chief executive officer of NRECA. Under English’s leadership, cooperatives have come to be seen as a powerful presence on Capitol Hill, “punching above their weight,” as one newspaper put it.
As CEO of NRECA, English chairs a national coalition representing captive shippers -- Consumers United for Rail Equity (CURE). He also sits on Agriculture Energy Work Group’s “25 by ’25 Steering Committee,” a group dedicated to increasing renewable energy resources that use agriculture and forestry products.
