ARLINGTON, VA, January 14, 2010 —NISC and Tantalus successfully passed interoperability tests for the interface between iVUE Outage Management and TUNet in compliance with MultiSpeak® 3.0 standards. TUNet is a two-way data communications network that supports advanced monitoring and automated control of applications and apparatus. NISC’s Outage Management System uses the interface to identify Tantalus endpoints and confirm the power status for meters that have failed to respond to a “ping.” Through the interface, the TUNet AMI system can also actively detect outages and restorations as they occur and relay those notifications to the iVUE Outage Management System in real time so that the location of service interruptions can be identified and repaired more quickly.
