In a letter to Rep. Pete Olson, NRECA thanks the Congressman for introducing H.R. 4273, the “Resolving Environmental and Grid Reliability Conflicts Act of 2012.” The bill clarifies that electric utility compliance with a Department of Energy emergency order will not violate environmental laws or regulations. It is a significant first step to resolving this conflict. NRECA looks forward to working with Congress on this effort, and thanks Rep. Olson for his leadership.
