NRECA Congratulates Commissioner Mignon Clyburn on Her Re-appointment to the Federal Communications Commission 

Arlington, VA.; January 3, 2013 – The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) today congratulated Commissioner Mignon Clyburn on her confirmation by the U.S. Senate for a second term on the Federal Communications Commission.

“Commissioner Clyburn has been a special friend to rural America” said Glenn English, CEO of NRECA.  “And, due to her experience as a state utility regulator, Commissioner Clyburn understands the unique telecommunication needs of rural electricity providers.  We look forward to continuing to work with Commissioner Clyburn and her colleagues at the FCC as they work to provide modern telecommunications services to all Americans.”

The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association is the national service organization that represents the nation’s more than 900 private, not-for-profit, consumer-owned electric cooperatives, which provide service to 42 million people in 47 states.
